The main fighting equipment of an armoured cavalryman of the 4th century.

1 The armour consists of steel strips for the arms, legs and feet and a cuirass of steel plates, with mail at the neck and waist.

2 The horse armour was of small bronze or iron plates sown onto canvas.

3 Long spear, the sword would be worn on the left-hand side of the body

4 The helmet would have almost enclosed the face.

5 The saddle remained the horned type. The rider still had no stirrups.

6 The mount would still have been pony-sized.
